Recycling

I found this giant kaftan at an op shop. It had some interesting sewing features like weird gathered bits that seemed to have been done at random, and a long skinny pocket.

Now it's got a new lease of life as a skirt.

I might need to add an extra band of fabric round the bottom though, I don't know that I could maintain my modesty in a strong gust of wind in this skirt! Guess I should have followed the old 'measure twice, cut once' saying!

  1. The photo of the kaftan fabric looks amazing, like a decorated tunnel. I like the one of you in the skirt, too, by the cactus plant. The colours look appropriate. A bit cold to wear that for a while!

I really enjoy looking at what you put on your blog.
